Some organizations have ten pound policies and procedures manuals that are intended to bring order out of chaos but often simply hamstring staff. This source of stress is referred to, euphemistically, as red tape. Forms and paperwork mean more work. But more importantly forms and paperwork often make getting the job done quickly and efficiently all the harder. One key to this area is whether your boss supports you on policy matters.
