Succeed Like George

George M. grew up during the great depression and served in the military for several years during World War II. Almost everyone smoked while serving overseas and George continued to smoke after coming home. His oldest child used to bring him his cigarettes and lighter and he would entertain her by blowing smoke rings.

One night he was very tired as he drove home from work. He realized that he was almost out of cigarettes and would have to make a stop to get some more. He thought about it for a few minutes, then threw the pack and the last cigarette in it away. That was the last cigarette he ever smoked. He was pretty miserable for a few days but things gradually got better. In a matter of weeks it was over and he was beginning to feel much better.

He and his wife discovered soon after he quit that they were expecting a second child that they had been wanting. From the time he quit smoking George was very blessed with good health and is now 76 years old.

George did it.
