I have responsibility for people.
The lives, safety and careers of people are influenced by my decisions.

Responsibility for people is much more stressful than responsibility for things. Perhaps that is due in part to the fact that things are more predictable. Being a supervisor expands responsibility. A supervisor is responsible not only for their own behavior but the behavior of others. Another feature is responsibility for the well being of people. There is no better example of this than Air Traffic Controllers. If they make a mistake, people may die. The relationship between this kind of stress and health are well-established. So what can you do about it? If you are in this kind of job the best approach is to build your own resilience:
