The Right Attitude: Acceptance

Acceptance means seeing things as they actually are in the present. In the alcoholic's prayer, the recovering person tries to change the things that can be changed, to accept those that they cannot change and requests wisdom to know the difference between the two. According to Dr. Kabat-Zinn, "In the meditation practice, we cultivate acceptance by taking each moment as it comes and being with it freely, as it is."
