Spirtual Energy

After finishing the front nine, Fred and The Pro stopped for a cold drink at the snack bar between the ninth and tenth holes. The Pro discussed the fourth major area:

“The way Loehr talks about spiritual energy is interesting. He defines ‘Spiritual Energy’ as a deeply held set of values and purposes. It is like a map that tells us where we want to focus our energy. Values help determine the matters about which we have passion and that help determine our commitments. We are lucky enough to be out here on a sunny morning. When ‘Superman’ Christopher Reeves had his accident that left him quadriplegic he considered suicide but then tapped into a source of spiritual energy and came out fighting. When we are working in harmony with our values we can focus our energy and improve performance levels. When we are not in harmony sustaining performance is difficult. As in other areas we must set aside time for renewal. That may be through attending church, walking a beautiful golf course early in the morning, listening to music, reading an inspirational story. Look at this list."

Click next and you will see the list that The Pro handed Fred. As your first step in building a foundation for performance follow the directions and complete the exercise. You will learn a lot about your own values. Then take the Learning Pathways on Exercise and Nutrition to continue to build your foundation.
