“So what does all this mean?” asked The Pro as they headed for the back nine.

“It means that the keys to performance in your work life are similar to those you find in golf. You must build a foundation that addresses physical energy. That means you must start an exercise program. At the same time you must change your nutrition patterns to insure that the fuel you put into your body can be turned into energy when you need it for performance. You must learn whether the way you breathe, particularly in times of pressure, helps you focus energy to optimize performance. You need to be sure that you regulate your emotions so as to sustain performance. Mental processes can help you channel energy. You don’t have a crystal ball. You don’t really know what will happen on the next shot or tomorrow at work. So you may as well think positively and be optimistic. Don’t dwell on the negative whether about fairway woods or a work project.

Finally, if you are working or playing in ways that are in harmony with your personal values you will find it a lot easier to optimize your performance.”

Follow The Pro's advice and complete as Learning Pathways for Stress, Exercise, Nutrition, Emotional Resilience and Relaxation. That is a good way to begin to build your foundation for performance.
