How to Change

The purpose of this Learning Pathway is to help you understand the spiral of change; to know where you are on that spiral and how to progress successfully through the overall change process to accomplish your desired goals.

What is the spiral of change? Psychologists James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente decided to study how people succeed at personal development. They found that successful change is more of a spiral than a straight line. Those most successful at personal change move up and down, making progress, falling back, and going on to make progress again.

Getting rid of your old ideas for how to change, and learning new ways can make the difference. Answer the following questions to learn more about successful change processes.
